Castle Peak Backcountry Tour

<div>Castle Peak is the second highest peak in the Tahoe National Forest with beautiful views and varied ski descents.&nbsp; It has everything from open bowls, gladed trees, steep chutes, winter powder and spring corn options.&nbsp; It is in a very snowy location along the Sierra Crest and is very good for early season, as well as late season backcountry tours. &nbsp;</div><div>Your guide will do a tour plan with you in the morning going over the current avalanche and weather forecasts for the day.&nbsp; After discussing the current conditions, we will come up with the best terrain options to find the best snow and descents.&nbsp;<br><br></div><div><em>Prerequisites</em><strong><br></strong><br></div><div>Advanced in bounds ski resort skiing or splitboarding skills with good physical condition are required for this tour.&nbsp; This would be a great option after you have taken an Intro to Backcountry Skiing/Splitboarding course and a AIARE avalanche course with us.&nbsp; These tours average 2000-3000' vertical feet of climbing throughout the day.</div>
