Meet The C7 Road Crew: Brent Adams, Stoke Broker
Former professional athlete (LAX), student of the outdoors, an up-for-anything kind of guy, and human to Zion, Brent Adams joined the C7 team as our on-the-road ambassador and has recently taken to the road on a tour of the Mountain West. He's coming to a mountain town near you to hit the trails, waterways, and runs with your local outfitters and guides. He's also answering questions about Cache_Seven, and getting real-time feedback from the guide community.
Look for Brent and Zion in a mountain town near you. If you see them (or the C7 van), stop by to say hi!
Ten Questions with Brent
C7: Where were you born and raised? And where do you live now?
Brent:
Norwalk, CT. My family still lives there, so I’m back often. Currently, I live in Bend, Oregon. I love the Pacific Northwest and Mountain West. The outdoor communities in these areas are vital to the economy and are full of experienced, interesting, and expert guides who are essential threads in the fabric of the overall sense of community in every mountain town. At Cache_Seven, we're excited to work with the guides and the outfitters in these areas—we're committed to helping the outdoor professionals thrive.
C7: You're a former professional lacrosse player who has been coaching LAX for the past few years. When was your first exposure to LAX? And your LAX path?
Brent:
Both of my older brothers played lacrosse, so I followed their lead. I played as much as I could growing up and eventually I earned a scholarship to play at Fairfield University. After that, I played 12 years professionally in the Major Lacrosse League (Championship with the Chesapeake Bayhawks), Premier Lacrosse League, and National Lacrosse League. Made All-Star teams in both the PLL and MLL. It's been a wild ride and I love the game. I also love sharing what I know about the game with younger players.
C7: What books are on your bedside table? Or on the passenger seat in the van?
Brent:
Circe
,
The Creative Act
,
Four Thousand Weeks
. It's an eclectic list but hits so many different areas of interest for me.
C7: Three unexpected items you never travel without?
Brent:
1.
A lacrosse ball—doubles as a massage tool after long days on the
mountain or trail. 2. A journal—never know when an idea or epic moment needs to be written down.
And 3.
Baby wipes—because sometimes showers aren’t an option.
C7: Best advice you've ever been given?
Brent:
"Do what you love, and the right people will find you." It’s held true in everything I’ve done—lacrosse, snowboarding, business, and now this chapter with Cache_Seven.
C7: Advice you once heard and regret not following:
Brent:
"Take the leap sooner." Every time I finally went for something, I wished I had done it earlier.
C7: Fill in the blank:
I don't believe in..
. waiting for the 'perfect' time—it doesn’t exist.
I do believe in...
earning your turns, whether in life or in the backcountry.
I have always...
wondered what life would be like if I had picked a
totally different sport growing up.
My favorite things to do are...
chase deep snow, explore new trails, and
bring Zion along for the ride.
My least favorite thing to do is...
sit in lift lines on a pow day.
Best meal I've ever eaten...
A backcountry burrito at sunrise—campfire-cooked, somewhere deep in the Sawtooth Mountains, after a splitboard mission. Exhaustion, hunger, and the view made it unbeatable.
I live by the words...
"Tugende Maso" - "Let's Go Forward" in Luganda.
C7: Favorite thing about traveling for Cache_Seven?
The people. Connecting with outdoor guides, hearing their stories, and getting to be part of what they’re building. Every day feels like an adventure—it’s never the same. I really believe in the Cache_Seven mission to support the guiding community and to connect adventurers of all levels of ability with the right guides and the right outings. I appreciate that C7 serves both the experienced and the new-to-the-sport adventure seekers (and every level in between!). It supports an ethos of life-long learning that is vital both to the guiding profession and to the rest of us!
C7: What are you looking forward to in 2025?
Brent:
Dialing in the Cache_Seven community, more road trips in the van, and pushing myself in the backcountry. Also, just seeing where this all leads—because if the past year has taught me anything, it’s that the best stuff happens when you just go for it.
C7: What's your itinerary and what will you be doing while on the road for C7?
Brent:
We're going to keep it open and go whichever way the snow takes us for this winter portion of the road show. We will be talking to as many guides, outfitters, and adventurers as possible. We'll be skiing, boarding, hiking, exploring, and immersing ourselves in the particulars of each mountain town. Lifelong learning and exploring. That's what C7 is about.
