About
Terre Boréale was created in September 2013, after its two owners moved to the Yukon in 2011 and fell in love with this beautiful territory. Terre Boréale was created out of love for the majestic wilderness of the Yukon and the willingness to share this beauty and peacefulness with all nature lovers out there.
We want to showcase this territory in a way that is respectful and low impact to keep it wild for as long as we can.

Donjek Glacier Backcountry Tour
Whitehorse, YT, Canada
Embark on the ultimate adventure with our 11-day guided hiking tour to the spectacular Donjek Glacier in Yukon. This expedition is tailored for intrepid explorers seeking a challenge amidst breathtaking wilderness. Beginning in Whitehorse, where you'll settle into a comfortable hotel with convenient shuttle service, you'll meet your guides for a pre-trip briefing and gear check.
From day one, our journey takes us to Haines Junction and Kluane National Park, where we immerse ourselves in Southern Tutchone culture at Long Ago Peoples Place and Da Ku Cultural Center. Setting camp at Kluane Lake, Yukon's largest, we prepare for the rugged terrain ahead.
The heart of our adventure begins on day two as we leave civilization behind and trek towards the Donjek Glacier. For the next nine days, we navigate challenging landscapes off-trail, relying on map, compass, and expert guidance. From uneven tundra to steep scree slopes and dense forests, each day presents new obstacles and rewards, including stunning views of Kluane's towering peaks and the majestic Donjek Glacier itself.
Throughout our journey, expect to hike 5 to 7 hours daily, covering up to 10 km, with daily elevation gains of around 300m. We carry our gear and food, ensuring a self-sufficient wilderness experience. A day off on day five offers a chance to explore without packs, adding flexibility to our itinerary.
On day ten, as we cross the Alaska Highway, our adventure concludes with a return to Whitehorse, where you'll enjoy a well-deserved night in a hotel. Reflect on your journey over a final meal before bidding farewell to this unforgettable Yukon wilderness experience on day eleven.
