Our experienced and professional guides provide comprehensive instruction, covering everything from basic ice climbing techniques to advanced anchor building and more.

Ice climbing is possible and pretty rad depending on the season’s conditions in Golden, Colorado! A few flows persist throughout the winter, despite the Front Range’s fluctuating weather conditions. In fact, it is this vicious freeze-thaw pattern that allows ice to form up on Northern aspects throughout the Canyon.

Alaska needs little introduction as a winter paradise. As the largest state in the country, there is an abundance of incredible ice climbing centered around Anchorage. And we are excited to share it with you! Join us and our professional guides for some of the absolute best ice climbing around Anchorage, Palmer, and Wasilla. South central Alaska has a huge variety of ice climbs, from single pitch ice flow cragging, to steep and challenging brittle ice, to enjoyable multipitch ice climbing in beautiful and awe-inspiring mountains. There is something here for everyone!

We offer private ice guiding, ice climbing instruction, and ice climbing courses customized to your ability level and desires for the day. We can teach you the skills to build ice anchors, make v-threads, and be more efficient while climbing ice. Looking for technique pointers? We can get you up to speed climbing steep ice and feeling confident doing it. Many of the venues we use are perfect for first time ice climbers and seasoned veterans alike. With full day and bigger day options, we can meet you where you are at in your ice climbing journey and customize a day just for you and your group.

Our guides are expert teachers and instructors and are passionate about sharing an incredible ice climbing experience with you. Our private Alaska Ice Climbing days are a great way to experience ice climbing for the first time, or to climb wild ice in America’s Last Frontier. All of our guides operate within the AMGA Scope of Practice and are exceptional at teaching skills such as technique, steep ice technique, ice climbing anchors, rope management, and so much more.

Crack Climbing Cathedral Spires

Cathedral Spires is an iconic destination revered by climbers for its unique towers and rock formations. The area’s allure lies in its exquisite cracks and pristine granite slabs, offering an array of challenges to cater to climbers of all skill levels. Cathedral Spires presents a paradise for climbing enthusiasts, boasting diverse terrains encompassing cragging, multipitch adventures, slabs, cracks, faces, chimneys, and offwidths. Traditional climbers will find ample opportunities to test their skills and push their limits.

Discover signature routes that have earned acclaim within the climbing community, including the revered Center Route (9+) and Wunsch’s Dihedral (11), both celebrated as top-notch crack climbs in the state. These immaculate climbs epitomize the area’s draw for climbers seeking high-quality sends. The legacy traces back to the Ellingwood Chimney, which was first ascended in the 1920s, marking the inaugural climb in the region and setting the tone for decades of climbing endeavors. Development in the Spires flourished in the late ’70s and ’80s, characterized by a commitment to ground-up route establishment, utilizing bolts sparingly in line with the adventurous spirit of the era.
