About
I am a full time guide based out of Victor, Idaho, specializing in person-centered mountain education and experiences. I grew up in rural Massachusetts and was fortunate to be introduced to the outdoors at a young age through excursions to the mountains, forests, and rivers of New England with my family. Backcountry snowboarding was my passion, and I cut my teeth on the steep, icy slopes of the White Mountains of New Hampshire as a teenager.
I pursued an undergraduate degree in Environmental Policy & Education from Colby College in Maine, guiding and teaching during college and continuing full time after graduation. I now call the Teton Mountains home, and spend my summers and winters guiding there, with springs and falls spent on trips to other ranges.
I’ve guided skied, and climbed across the Colorado Rockies, Tetons, North Cascades, Alaska Range, Iceland, and the French & Swiss Alps. I teach avalanche safety through the American Avalanche Institute and guide through Exum Mountain Guides, Yostmark Backcountry Tours, the American Alpine Institute, Colorado Mountain School, and Acadia Mountain Guides,
When I’m not guiding or instructing, you’ll find me with my nose in a book or cooking a tasty meal with friends.

Grand Teton Summit Climb
Climbing the Grand Teton is a true alpine classic—an engaging, beautiful two-day adventure through one of the West’s most iconic ranges. Our climb begins with a steady approach into Garnet Canyon, where we settle in for the night at the Lower Saddle at Exum’s “hut,” perched between the Grand and the Middle. From this high camp, the sunrise route to the summit feels both close and committing, weaving the mountain in an unforgettable position by either the Owen Spaulding, or Exum Ridge routes. The Grand rewards efficient movement and thoughtful pacing, and I’ll guide you through each section with clear instruction and steady momentum. It’s a demanding but deeply rewarding experience.

Grand Teton Alpine Climbing
Beyond the Grand, the Tetons offer a lifetime of high-quality alpine routes—long ridges, clean rock, and striking lines that combine technical movement with attention to pace and terrain. The Buckingham Ridge on the Middle Teton delivers a full-value day on solid stone with an incredible setting above the South Fork of Garnet Canyyon. The Direct South Ridge of Nez Perce offers intricate routefinding and sweeping exposure, while the East Ridge of Disappointment Peak provides accessible alpine climbing with big-mountain ambience after the approach. For those looking for pure rock in a dramatic setting, routes like Irene’s Arete, Guide’s Wall, and the classic lines on Symmetry Spire offer sustained climbing and incredible views across Jenny Lake. Each objective has its own character, and I’ll help you select a climb that fits your goals, experience, and appetite for adventure. I guide in Grand Teton National Park through Exum Mountain Guides, and will work with you to coordinate all of the details of our outing through them.
