About
Geoff has been climbing and skiing for most of his life. His travels have taken him all over the globe for alpinism and guiding. Two of Geoff’s notable achievements are climbing first ascents in the Himalaya and repeating a demanding route on the north face of the Grand Jorasses outside Chamonix in winter. When not in the alpine he enjoys climbing in all its forms from bouldering to multi-pitch traditional climbing and ice climbing. Geoff began guiding in 2001 and soon discovered it was the only thing he wanted to do as a profession. Coaching and teaching are aspects of the job he really enjoys, along with taking his guests to some incredible places. Geoff’s desire to give his clients the best possible experience led him to pursue training and certification through the American Mountain Guides Association. He completed the demanding guide training in just 3 years earning IFMGA qualification in 2008. In addition to being a guide Geoff is an instructor for the American Mountain Guides Association guide training programs and an AIARE Level 1 and Level 2 Avalanche course lead instructor. When not guiding he enjoys cooking and mountain biking. You may even see him take flight under the wing of his paraglider when conditions are right.
