

About
Liz Schwab grew up ski racing in upstate New York. She attended college in Durango, CO graduating in 2014 with a Bachelors in Physiology and Adventure Education. She then moved to Silverton, CO where she became an EMT and started her avalanche education. Liz has been teaching avalanche courses for both AAA and AIARE programs for 10 years now. In 2020 Liz became a paramedic and worked full time for Silverton Medical Rescue an EMS and SAR based agency. Liz participated in leading complex emergency rescue scenes in the San Juan Mountains austere environment for several years before moving to Victor, Idaho in 2023. Liz now works as a guide, paramedic, WFR instructor and ski patroller at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort.

AIARE 2 Avalanche Course
This advanced course builds on curriculum from the AIARE 1 and is designed for skiers and riders who travel regularly in avalanche terrain. Let our AMGA-trained and certified ski and splitboard guides help you develop your hazard evaluation, decision-making and terrain management. Learn the skills necessary to make decisions in complicated situations like leading a small travel group, traveling in challenging or complex avalanche terrain, or developing a travel plan without adequate resources.

AIARE Avalanche Rescue Course
Jackson Hole Mountain Guideās AIARE Avalanche Rescue is a one-day stand alone course that is intended to be taken on a regular basis in order to keep abreast of best practices in rescue techniques and gear. New participants will learn the basics of companion rescue, while return participants will expand their skill set with advanced topics and realistic scenario practice to help improve their skills after the course. Each participant will have the opportunity to receive professional coaching their rescue skills and will receive a rescue card acknowledging completion date at course end.
