Ouray Kids Climbing Camps offer a unique opportunity for young climbers, primarily catering to ages 6-11, with minimal climbing experience. We understand every child is unique, so if your child is slightly outside this age range or skill level, please contact us to discuss options for accommodating them.

The camp includes all necessary climbing equipment, such as helmets, harnesses, and climbing shoes, ensuring your child is fully equipped for their climbing adventure. Each group is led by a fun, local climbing guide, dedicated to creating a safe and productive environment for learning and enjoyment.

Parents are asked to provide appropriate attire for their children and pack a lunch for each day. The camp, spanning three days of guided climbing, is priced at $350 per child. This is a thrilling dual-adventure day in partnership with Basecamp Ouray and Colorado Canyoneering. Starting at the Ouray Adventure Center, this experience combines the exhilaration of canyoneering with the awe-inspiring climb of Gold Mountain Via Ferrata.

The day will look like this-:

Meet at Ouray Adventure center (where our office is) and then head over to the Ouray Via Ferrata. After the the Via you will have a break time to have lunch and will meet your guide from Canyoning Colorado. After lunch you will head out to enjoy the canyon! It is a day that will make lasting memories. (personal vehicle required)

Our custom tailored Sport Climbing Progression Course is in the stunning San Juan Mountains will be an unforgettable experience high off the ground. You'll get to take in the exposure of climbing high above our beautiful backyard, ascend many pitches of excellent climbing, and learn the skills you need to go out on your own. The 3 days will go over all the basics including movement, anchor building, top roping, clipping, learning to lead, multi-pitch techniques and more.

Over the 3 days you will go to multiple locations around Ouray! Crags including rotary, roadside, poolwall, overlook and more. Each brings a different beautiful view and allows for a great learning environment.

Alpine Touring, Randonee, Backcountry… Whatever you call it, it is fun. Learn the basics for uphill travel, avalanche safety protocols, and skiing downhill in variable conditions.
